FADE IN:

EXT.–ATLANTIS–MOUNTAINS

The door lead back to the starting point of their journey where they had climbed those pyramid shaped mountains. They were all staring at the Amblin THX 1138.

BARBARA LEE
So we ended up back here?

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Well, I guess it’s over.

Steve looks right at the Amblin THX 1138.

STEVE
Let’s go back then.

Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob move toward the Amblin THX 1138.

EDDIE
I wonder if those dumbasses on the beach’ll still be there.

Steve looks at the Amblin THX 1138 with a confused look.

STEVE
I don’t know.

INT.–AMBLIN THX 1138–COCKPIT

The five of them get onboard the Amblin THX 1138, all with overwhelmed looks on their faces. Larry and Barbara Lee take their seats in front of the cockpit while Steve, Eddie, and Bob sit on the individual beds.

STEVE
I wonder what those secrets of the universe we discovered in Poseidon’s shrine meant.

Eddie shakes his head.

EDDIE
Don’t worry about it. Maybe we’re not supposed to know.

Steve gives Eddie a puzzled look.

STEVE
What do you mean?

Eddie looks right into Steve’s eyes.

EDDIE
Maybe it’s one of those mysteries of the universe which isn’t supposed to be explained.

Steve still looks confused.

EDDIE (CONTINUED)
You know how you see and experience the miracles of God, but you don’t why or how he does it?

STEVE
Yeah.

Steve nods his head.

EDDIE
Well, maybe this is how it’s supposed with Atlantis.

Steve nods his head again.

STEVE
Maybe your right.

A tired Bob looks over at Steve.

BOB
Just relax and enjoy the journey home.

Steve lies down on the bed.

LARRY
Yeah, we’ll be back home before you know it.

Larry gets up from the front of the cockpit, and kneels at Steve’s bedside.

LARRY (CONTINUED
Hey kid.

Larry glances at his tired nephew.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I just wanna thank you for askin’ me to come here.

Larry smiles at Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
And tell you once more how much I love you.

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Who knows where we’d all be if you hadn’t wanted us to come here.

Larry now has an even bigger smile on his face.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Atlantis just isn’t a miracle, you’re the real miracle Steve.

Larry props his chin up on his arm.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
A child who brought a bunch of middle aged losers to a utopian paradise. Now there’s a miracle!

Larry kisses Steve on the head.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I knew you were special the moment your mama brought you home from the hospital. And now you’re the miracle child who found Atlantis.

Barbara Lee notices they’re headed for the same vortex from which they entered Atlantis.

BARBARA LEE
I think we’re headed back to the surface.

Larry races back to the front of the cockpit.

STEVE
Alright, everyone stay still.

Larry and Barbara Lee hold hands.

LARRY
Wasn’t this great, precious?

Barbara Lee nods her head and smiles at Larry.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah.

Larry and Barbara Lee start kissing.

BARBARA LEE (CONTINUED)
I love you, honey.

Larry smiles at her.

LARRY
I love you too, baby doll.

Larry and Barbara Lee wrap their arms around each other as they continue kissing.

EXT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–DAY

The Amblin THX 1138 returns to the surface of the ocean, the door to the submarine opens with Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob getting out into the ocean.

STEVE
God, how long have we been down there?

All five of them look around, and notice no one is on the beach.

BARBARA LEE
Where did everyone go?

They walk through the waters of the ocean, looking around for anyone in sight.

LARRY
Did the sun get too hot all of a sudden?

Larry laughs a bit.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
They were lookin’ at us if we were nuts, now they don’t have the guts to even face us.

Bob nods his head.

BOB
Makes ya’ think, don’t it?

Larry takes a deep breathe with his hand on his hips.

The five of them continue walking through the ocean.

LARRY
Come here, sweetheart.

Larry holds out his arms as Barbara Lee comes towards him.

BARBARA LEE
Ain’t you just handsome, darlin’?

Barbara Lee walks into Larry’s loving arms, and kisses him.

LARRY
I know I am, sugar. I know I am.

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
You are so full of shit.

Larry grins at Steve.

LARRY
Yeah, but I’m still handsome.

Steve and Eddie continue walking through the ocean.

EDDIE
Handsome in your own mind.

Bob looks pissed as he tries to push The Amblin THX 1138 out of the ocean.

BOB
Aren’t you all gonna give me a hand here?

The other four help Bob give the Amblin THX 1138 a small push.

LARRY
Come on, let’s give it another.

They give it another small push.

STEVE
God, can this get any heavier?

Larry squints his eyes.

LARRY
Just keep pushin’.

They all give the Amblin THX 1138 a big push.

EDDIE
We’re gettin’ there, now let’s go.

They give it another push.

STEVE
Alright, how much longer do we have to go?

They give it one last major push.

BOB
We’re almost there.

They give the Amblin THX 1138 a few small pushes on the way back to shore.

STEVE
God, I’m tired!

Steve bends his knees as if he can’t stand up anymore.

LARRY
Don’t worry, let’s just go find somewhere to sit down.

The five of them sit down on the sand in the middle of the beach.

STEVE
How long have we been out there?

Steve is so tired he lays down.

LARRY
We were there for a good while.

Larry smiles as he looks over at Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
But it was worth it, wasn’t it?

Steve nods his head.
S

STEVE
Yeah, of course it was.

LARRY
You’ve made a difference in people’s lives, and we’re gonna change the world with this.

Larry hugs Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I’m so proud of you.

Larry holds Steve even tighter.

BARBARA LEE
And I love YOU darlin’!

Barbara Lee wraps her arms around Larry’s stomach, and puts her head on his shoulder.

EDDIE
I guess I’ll have to get in on this too, huh?

Eddie joins in on the group hug.

BOB
Let me squeeze in here.

Bob gets in on the group hug as well.

STEVE
How long are we gonna be in this group hug?

The five of them start laughing.

NT.–TELEVISION STUDIO–NEWSCAST

A reporter is interviewing Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob about the discovery of Atlantis. The five of them look calm and reserved.

REPORTER
Now a crew of biologists and scuba divers have gone down to the Atlantic Ocean to verify your claim, but could you tell us what secrets Atlantis holds?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
We couldn’t tell you.

The reporter looks a bit shocked.

REPORTER
Why not?

Steve takes a deep breath.

STEVE
For the same reason one doesn’t question God as to why or how he performs his divine miracles.

The reporter waits for Steve to continue.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
You just have faith, and believe it’s there.

The reporter nods his head.

REPORTER
Well, it makes sense.

The reporter scratches his eyebrow.

REPORTER (CONTINUED)
So, what inspired you to find Atlantis?

Steve smiles at the reporter.

STEVE
Eddie here found a map in his attic, and believed we should go, and we brought the rest along for the ride. And here we are!

The cameraman gives the signal.

CAMERAMAN
And we’re out!

The news camera pulls back, and the entire newsroom is shown.

STEVE
If another reporter interviews me about Atlantis I’m gonna scream!

He, Larry, Barbara Lee, and Bob get out of their chairs. Moving past the news camera, they go into the trenches of the studio.

EDDIE
Your just under pressure from the media attention.

Larry smiles at Steve.

LARRY
Everything’s gonna be alright, you’ll see.

Steve gives him a dirty look.

STEVE
You always say everything’s gonna be alright.

Larry’s smile gets even wider.

LARRY
And it will.

Larry gives him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.

STEVE
Yeah, sure it will.

Barbara Lee looks at them.

BARBARA LEE
Come on, it’s not too bad.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Of course it isn’t, I just wish it all wasn’t happening so fast.

Bob shakes his head.

BOB
Just don’t worry about it.

Barbara Lee looks at all of them.

BARBARA LEE
Come on, we gotta head on outta here.

They head on over to the exit of the television studio.

STEVE
I wonder how many reporters are gonna be calling us next.

Barbara Lee rolls her eyes.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t worry about it Steve!

Steve lets out a small chuckle.

STEVE
Well, they’re a pain in the ass!

Eddie opens the exit door.

BARBARA LEE
Let’s go!

The five of them walk out the door.

INT.–BEDROOM–NIGHT

Larry and Barbara Lee are lying in bed together, Barbara Lee has her entire body covered up in sheets while Larry is shirtless and has a hairy chest.

LARRY
I’m so proud of Steve.

Barbara Lee’s head is lying on his chest, listening to his heartbeat as she touches his stomach.

BARBARA LEE
He sure is somethin’, ain’t he?

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Yeah.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
If he can accomplish something huge such as finding Atlantis at such a young age, who knows what he’ll do when he gets older?

Larry has a big smile on his face.

LARRY
I just hope I live to see it all.

Barbara Lee relaxes on top of his body.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t worry, honey. You will.

Larry kisses her on the head.
LARRY
I hope so.

Barbara Lee moves her hand up and down his chest and stomach.

BARBARA LEE
Can you believe Atlantis is for real?

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
I wouldn’t have in a thousand years.

Barbara Lee digs her finger into his navel.

BARBARA LEE
And we were there to experience it all.

Larry looks up at the ceiling.
LARRY
Not many people get a chance to do what we did, and it was just once in a lifetime.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
Although Steve was right about the media.

Larry doesn’t look surprised.

LARRY
Yeah, maybe they should leave us alone.

Barbara Lee looks up at Larry.

BARBARA LEE
Who would’ve thought? Just when we thought our lives would go even further down the tubes, there was journey which changed everything.

Larry raises his eyebrows.

LARRY
Yeah, what a story.

Barbara Lee closes her eyes for a second, then opens them again.

BARBARA LEE
A story which happened to us in real life.

Larry gets a curious look on his face.

LARRY
Ever think this kinda thing could ever happen again?

Barbara Lee shrugs her shoulders.

BARBARA LEE
Who knows?

Larry wraps his arms around her.

LARRY
Ya’ think the buzz over Atlantis’ll ever die down?

Barbara Lee shakes her head.

BARBARA LEE
Nope.

Larry fluffs his pillow.

LARRY
You may be right.

Barbara Lee kisses every inch of his stomach from top to bottom.

BARBARA LEE
Do you think we’ll end up in the history books?

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Don’t know.

Barbara Lee starts laughing.

BARBARA LEE
Ain’t ya’ the least bit curious?

Larry smiles.

LARRY
Yeah, it’d be nice.

A tired Larry turns his head as if he’s about to fall asleep.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah, it would.

Barbara Lee lays her head down on his hairy chest.

LARRY
What would I do without you, sugar?

Barbara Lee shrugs her shoulders.

BARBARA LEE
You’d get even older than you already are.

They both bust out laughing.

LARRY
Don’t remind me of my age, please darlin’.

Barbara Lee gives him a frown.

BARBARA LEE
Awwwwwwwwwww, what’s a matter? My sugar daddy doesn’t wanna get old?

They hold each other and share a long passionate kiss.

INT.–HANGAR–DAY

Members of the press are hounding Bob in his hangar. They are crowded around his myriad of vintage airplanes and submarines.

REPORTER
What are your thoughts on what’s going on at Panama City Beach?

Bob looks confused.

BOB
What are you talkin’ about?

The reporter is a bit surprised.

REPORTER
You mean you don’t know?

Bob shakes his head.

BOB
Know what?

The reporter looks shocked.

REPORTER
There’s a rumbling sound at the beach, and water’s bubbling up, as if something’s about to rise out of the ocean. Everyone’s talking about it.

Bob gets on his cellphone.

INT.–LARRY AND BARBARA LEE’S LIVING ROOM–DAY

Larry and Barbara Lee are hugging and kissing as usual, when of a sudden, the phone rings. Larry races over to the phone, and picks it up.

LARRY
Hey.

Larry looks confused as there is heavy breathing on the other end.

BOB (VOICE OVER)
There’s something goin’ on at Panama City Beach! I’ll meet ya’ there!

Larry looks even more confused.

LARRY
What is it?

Larry waits for Bob’s answer.

BOB
Can’t talk now, just get there!

Larry lowers his eyebrows.

LARRY
Alright.

Bob’s heavy breathing starts again.

BOB
Don’t forget to tell the others.

Larry hangs up the phone.

BARBARA LEE
Who was it?

Larry looks over at Barbara Lee.

LARRY
Bob found out there’s somethin’ goin’ on at Panama City Beach, we need to let Steve and Eddie know, and get there.

Larry dials Steve’s number.

STEVE (VOICE OVER)
Hi.

Larry gets nervous.

LARRY
Hey junior, somethin’s goin’ down at Panama City Beach, and you need tell Eddie so we can all meet there.

Larry starts sweating.

STEVE
Alright, I’ll let him know.

Larry moves around the room.

LARRY
Just hurry!

EXT.–EDDIE’S HOUSE–DAY

Steve and Eddie are standing beside his car, Eddie gives him a curious look. Steve looks out of breath as if he just raced to Eddie’s house.

STEVE
We gotta get to Panama City Beach.

Eddie looks puzzled.

EDDIE
What for?

Steve tries to catch his breath.

STEVE
Larry told me somethin’ was goin’ on there, and we needed to get there as soon as possible.

Eddie still looks confused.

EDDIE
What’s happenin’ there though?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
He didn’t say.

Eddie takes a deep breathe.

EDDIE
Alright, let’s go.

They race over to Eddie’s car.

STEVE
What do you think it could be?

Eddie shrugs his shoulders.

EDDIE
Maybe the press wants to get another interview, and this time maybe it’s a big interview with 60 Minutes!

Steve busts out laughing.

STEVE
Your so full of shit.

Eddie smiles.

EDDIE
I know I am, but it’s apart of my appeal.

Steve rolls his eyes.

STEVE
Yeah right.

They get into Eddie’s car, and drive off.

INT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–DAY

People gather as this big rumbling noise occurs within the ocean as three vehicles pull up. One containing Steve and Eddie, another with Larry and Barbara Lee, and the last with Bob getting as well as the others emerging also.

LARRY
What’s the big fuss about?

The five of them notice something bubbling forth in the water.

STEVE
What the hell’s goin’ on?

A herd of reporters come charging towards them.

LARRY
Oh no, not this again!

All of these reporters are in their faces asking a myriad of questions.

STEVE
Would you all please back off?

The five of them start running from the reporters as the people crowd spot them and start cheering.

BARBARA LEE
Anyone know what the hell’s goin’ on here?

All of sudden, the rumbling in the ocean leads to something rising out of the water. Everyone is fixated on what could be emerging from the sea.

STEVE
I don’t believe this!

Rows and rows and row of ancient pyramids surface.

BARBARA LEE
Look!

A massive plain of land rises to fruition behind the pyramids.

EDDIE
Awesome!

And behind the plain, a palace shaped mountain surrounded by three circular rings, guarded by gates and towers rises from the sea.

BOB
Poseidon and Cleito’s palace, oh my god!

In full view there it was, The Lost Continent of Atlantis has now risen from it’s watery grave.

LARRY
The most beautiful thing on Earth just rose from the sea in front of our own eyes.

Everyone on the beach just stood there stunned.

REPORTER
Ladies and Gentlemen, you’ve just witnessed Plato’s mythical utopia Atlantis rise from the dead.

Pulling back, it is revealed the reporter is standing in front of a cameraman.

REPORTER
When it comes to the discovery of Atlantis, these five people should be commended.

The reporter turns towards Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob.

REPORTER (CONTINUED)
So tell me, how does it feel to see the lost continent you discovered rise from the sea?

Steve looks astonished.

STEVE
There are no words to describe it, it was just amazing.

Larry shakes his head with a smile.

LARRY
Experiencing this just beat the overall concept of climbing Mount Everest hands down.

The reporter looks over at Bob.

BOB
I’ve been spent most of my life believing in Atlantis, and now here it is. I’m just speechless.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
We had our doubts as to whether or not Atlantis existed, but thank god it does.

The reporter looks over at Eddie.

REPORTER
I understand you may have been the one who inspired this whole thing in the first place.

Eddie smiles.

EDDIE
If I hadn’t found the map of Atlantis in my attic, I don’t know where we’d all be right now. But the real credit goes to Steve here, our young hero.

Eddie grabs Steve’s shoulders.

LARRY
He’s gonna be the one who’s in the history books someday.

Larry smiles at Steve.

STEVE
Your so full of BS.

INT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–NIGHT

Pulling back, it’s revealed the interview with the reporter is on a late night newscast on a portable television set on the beach where Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob are sitting around a campfire.

STEVE
Is this what it all comes down to?

Larry laughs.

LARRY
Plato and other philosophers told tales of Atlantis around a campfire, and we’re now sittin’ around a campfire next to the real thing. What do you think?

Steve nods as they all toast marshmallows and hot dogs.

STEVE
Yeah, I guess your right.

Larry and Barbara Lee have their arms around each other as they smile at Steve.

BARBARA LEE
This was so special, I wonder if we’ll do anything this wonderful again.

Steve has one last glance at Atlantis in all of its mythical and mysterious splendor.
