FADE IN:

INT.–ATTIC–DAY

STEVE LUCAS (curly hair, early 20's) and EDDIE RUSSELL (bald, late 30's)are looking through some old boxes, and Eddie finds a map with a weird looking continent on it.

EDDIE
Hey, look at this! Weird lookin’ map ain’t it?

On the map, there is a continent somewhere in The Atlantic Ocean, between North and South America and Europe and Africa.

STEVE
If I’m not mistaken, I’d say it was Atlantis.

Eddie looks confused.

EDDIE
What?

Steve pulls the map out of Eddie’s hands.

STEVE
It was this continent in The Atlantic Ocean, sunk beneath the sea thousands of years ago.

Eddie gets even more puzzled.

EDDIE
For real?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
Nah, just an old myth.

Eddie looks at the map once again.

EDDIE
Why would it be here up in the attic?

Steve looks underwhelmed.

STEVE
Lots of people believed in Atlantis before the ‘50's.

Eddie shrugs his shoulders.

EDDIE
Why’d they stop?

Steve sits down in a nearby chair.

STEVE
Scientific facts were proven about continental drift, and no one believed in Atlantis anymore.

Eddie looks disappointed.

EDDIE
Too bad.

Eddie got a big smile on his face.

EDDIE (CONTINUED)
What if we went, and looked for Atlantis?

Steve rolled his eyes.

STEVE
Oh please!

Eddie holds his hands out towards Steve.

EDDIE
But Steve, this could make us rich!

Steve busts out laughing.

STEVE
Your just saying this because you don’t wanna spend the rest of your life working at your family’s hardware store in the day, and wrestling at night. Too late Eddie! Your almost 40!

Eddie holds head down.

EDDIE
I was just sayin’ it because, it’d give you somethin’ to shoot for in life.

Steve gives Eddie a dirty look.

STEVE
Oh yeah, how does it pay the bills?

Eddie sighs.

EDDIE
Look, you don’t wanna spend your life wasting away here in Dothan, Alabama. Your too good for this place, you got a whole lot goin’ for ya!

Steve puts his hand on the staircase.

STEVE
Yeah, right.

Eddie grabs his shoulder.

EDDIE
I know, I know. The myth was disproven by a scientific discovery in the 1950's, but Atlantis is the kinda thing we all need in our lives.

Steve becomes confused.

STEVE
What?

Eddie looks into Steve’s eyes.

EDDIE
It’s why we go see movies, it’s why we watch television, it’s why we read books and listen to stories about old myths, legends, and folk tales.

Steve now appears attentive.

STEVE
Why?

Eddie has a humble look on his face.

EDDIE
It’s because we need to have faith, something to believe in, something to get away from science and help us escape from the real world.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
I guess your right.

INT.–MOBILE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY–DAY

LARRY BAXTER(sandy grey crewcut, 60's-maybe 70ish with glasses) is wining and dining his wife BARBARA LEE (blonde 30's-40's-50's) at the Gulf Coast Reunion when he gets a call on his cellphone.

LARRY
Hello?

He smiled at Barbara Lee as they touched hands.

STEVE (VOICE OVER)
Hey Larry, we need to talk.

Larry becomes alarmed.

LARRY
Hey child, can’t this wait another time, we got the rasslin’ matches tonight.

Larry’s eyes bug out as Steve starts yelling at him over the phone.

STEVE
Bullshit! You haven’t promoted a wrestling show in 20 years! Don’t give me this kayfabe bullshit! Your at one of those wrestlers reunions!

Larry takes a deep breath.

LARRY
Alright, what is this about?

Barbara Lee kisses him on the lips.

STEVE
Remember the old myth about Atlantis?

Larry becomes puzzled.

LARRY
Yeah, what about it?

Larry awaits a response on his cellphone.

STEVE
You remember your son David’s old friend Eddie Russell?

Larry now looks even more confused.

LARRY
What does he have to do with this?

Larry shakes his head and rolls his eyes at Barbara Lee.

STEVE
He and I are planning to go into the sea, and find The Lost Continent of Atlantis.

Larry busts out laughing.

LARRY
Sorry kid, can’t play treasure hunt with you today, maybe some other weekend!

Larry closes up his cellphone.

BARBARA LEE
Who was on the phone?

Larry has his hands on both of Barbara Lee’s cheeks.

LARRY
Nobody sugar, just my nutty nephew.

BARBARA LEE
What did he want?

Larry shakes his head and takes a bite of food.

LARRY
He wanted me to help him and some old friend of my son’s go find The Lost Continent of Atlantis.

They both bust out laughing.

BARBARA LEE
Well, maybe he just wanted to spend time with you.

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Maybe, but I can see him some other time.

Larry and Barbara Lee hold hands.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
This weekend belongs to us, darlin’.

Barbara Lee has a sad look on her face.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
What’s wrong baby doll?

She shrugs her shoulders.

BARBARA LEE
Well, you could spend some time with him.

Larry uses a toothpick to get the food out from between his teeth.

LARRY
What?

Barbara Lee takes a sip of her drink.

BARBARA LEE
Look at us, our lives are pathetic!

Larry looks confused again.

LARRY
What do you mean sugar? Our lives are great!

Barbara Lee shakes her head.

BARBARA LEE
No they’re not! It’s been 20 years since your wrestling promotion closed, and the soap opera I write for may get cancelled!

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Your right, darlin’.

Barbara Lee puts her hands on top of Larry’s.

BARBARA LEE
Maybe this Atlantis thing would be good for us.

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Maybe.

Barbara Lee takes a bite of her food.

BARBARA LEE
Most of all, it’d be good for Steve.

Larry gazed into her eyes.

LARRY
Yeah, it would.

Barbara Lee smiles at Larry with a certain twinkle in here eye.

BARBARA LEE
He’s young, he’s scared, and doesn’t know where he’s going in life.

Larry props his chin up on his fist.

BARBARA LEE
And, we’re old, we’re scared, and don’t know where we’re going in life.

Larry raises his eyebrows and nods his head.

LARRY
Your right, let’s do this sugar.

Larry gives Barbara Lee a big wet kiss on the lips.

BARBARA LEE
Ooooh! Give me some more, honey!

She sits in his lap, and they share a long passionate kiss.

LARRY
Oh, I love you sugar!

Larry and Barbara Lee give each other a big hug.

EXT.–DOWNTOWN DOTHAN–DAY

Steve, Eddie, Larry, and Barbara Lee are standing in the streets of Downtown Dothan. The four of them stand there discussing Atlantis.

STEVE
So what changed your mind?

Steve had his arms crossed.

LARRY
Barbara Lee convinced me it was a good idea.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Yeah, sure she did.

Larry puts his hands in his pockets, and looks down at his feet.

LARRY
What she said kinda got to me, maybe this trip to Atlantis would do us all some good.

Steve looked astonished.

STEVE
You act as if this is some vacation or something!

Larry raises his arms and shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Well, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get in the water a bit.

STEVE
This isn’t just some trip to the beach!

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
So, what are we looking for in this Atlantis thing here?

Steve pulls the map of Atlantis out of his pocket.

STEVE
Atlantis was this advanced civilization which existed thousands of years ago, and sunk to the bottom of the sea.

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know all about that part of myth, but why are we going?

Larry waits for Steve’s answer.

STEVE
It’s supposed to hold the secrets of the universe.

Larry nods his head, rubbing his chin with his thumb and index finger.

LARRY
I still think you’ve been watching too much Star Trek, and too many of those George Lucas and Steven Spielberg films. But I’ll bite.

Steve gives Larry a curious look.

STEVE
And?

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
And, there’s this old friend of mine who might be able to help us out.

Steve and Eddie give Larry and Barbara Lee a curious look.

STEVE
What old friend of yours?

Larry has a smartass grin on his face.

LARRY
Oh, from the wrestling business.

Steve starts laughing.

STEVE
Yeah right, what would he know about Atlantis?

Larry nods his head while looking down at the dirt.

LARRY
He’s been obsessed with the myth for years.

Steve continues laughing as he shakes his head.

STEVE
Yeah sure.

Steve and Eddie are both laughing.

LARRY
Remember the old lot between Castle Rock and Derry?

Steve and Eddie nods their heads.

STEVE
Yeah.

Larry starts to look shifty eyed.

LARRY
Well, there’s this old hangar there where he claims there’s something there which can get us to Atlantis.

Steve nods his head with a smile.

STEVE
What else does he have there? The way to OZ and the way to The North Pole?

Steve and Eddie bust out laughing.

BARBARA LEE
We’re just trying to help.

Steve and Eddie try to hold in the laughter.

STEVE
Alright, any real idea what he’s hiding in there?

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
No idea, just what he claims can get us to Atlantis.

STEVE
Can you take us there?

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Yeah, of course I can.

Steve looks right at Larry.

STEVE
Well, what we waiting for? Let’s go.

Larry and Barbara Lee look disappointed.

LARRY
Well Steve, you haven’t say anything about how my baby girl looks today.

Steve sighs.

STEVE
You look fine Barbara Lee, now let’s go!

Larry and Barbara Lee get pissed.

BARBARA LEE
Well, if your gonna be rude about it, then....

Steve gets a stern look on his face.

STEVE
Let’s just go already! Shit!

Steve, Eddie, Larry, and Barbara Lee get in Larry’s car.

LARRY
Anyone gotta go to the bathroom?

EXT.–THE OLD LOT–DAY

Steve, Eddie, Larry, and Barbara Lee pull up in Larry’s car at the old lot between Castle Rock Avenue and Derry Street. The old lot looks similar to Area 51 with BOB DEMEREST waiting for them.

BOB
Hi there!

Larry walks up to him, holding Barbara Lee’s hand, and Steve and Eddie walking along beside them.

LARRY
Hey, wonderin’ if you could help us out a bit.

Larry and Bob are grinning at each other.

BOB
Sure, what do ya need?

Larry has his hands on hips.

LARRY
My nephew is searchin’ for The Lost Continent of Atlantis.

Larry puts his around Steve, and holds him tight.

BOB
OH OK! GOOD!

Bob motions with his fingers for them to follow him.

BOB
The answer lies in here!

INT.–-HANGAR–DAY

All of them enter the hangar bay where Bob keeps many ships and vessels in storage, both aeronautic and aquatic. Almost as if it was a private museum or gallery.

BARBARA LEE
Wow, these are gorgeous!

Steve passes by a replica of The Wright Brothers plane from 1903.

STEVE
Damn, this old fart should open these to the public, and sell tickets.

Eddie is right beside him looking at an old submarine from World War I.

EDDIE
Or donate ‘em to the Smithsonian.

They both look over at a replica of Charles Lindbergh’s The Spirit of St. Louis.

STEVE
I wonder how he pay for these.

Eddie shrugs his shoulders.

EDDIE
Or what he had to exchange for these.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Yeah.

As they looked around, their eyes fixated on this golden rocket shaped submarine. It appeared to be an old World War II model, but was in good condition.

BOB
Here it is!

Barbara Lee moved her hands along its smooth yet dented surface.

BARBARA LEE
What is this?

Bob looks at the golden submarine with his hands in his pockets.

BOB
It’s one of the old Amblin submarines, the THX 1138 model if I’m not mistaken.

Barbara Lee takes another good look at the Amblin THX 1138

LARRY
Wasn’t this a World War II model?

Bob nods his head.

BOB
Oh yes, Hitler and The Nazis used this in a failed attempt to find Atlantis, and Hitler wanted to inherit powers from Poseidon, The Greek God of The Sea, and bring about the next generation of Atlantis in Nazi Germany.

Larry puts his arms around a scared Barbara Lee

LARRY
How did it get here?

Bob has a big grin on his face.

BOB
Hitler and The Nazis came back to surface a bit earlier than expected. Weird things started to happen, and they believed this ship was possessed by Poseidon and the spirits of Atlantis, so they dumped it in The Atlantic Ocean.

Larry smiles, still holding Barbara Lee in his arms.

LARRY
Spooky ain’t it, sugar?

Barbara Lee looks into his eyes, and smiles back.

BARBARA LEE
Not too scary.

He holds her even closer.

LARRY
Awwwww, my baby was scared!

He kisses her on the cheek.

STEVE
So, how does this thing work?

Bob stands to the side of the Amblin THX 1138 with a proud look on his face.

BOB
It activates when we push it into a body of water, and we head into the deepest part of the ocean.

Steve looks curious.

STEVE
How did you get this one?

BOB
Several years after WWII, a U.S. Marine found it coming to surface, and took possession of it. I bought it from him a few years later.

Bob rubs his hands together.

BOB (CONTINUED)
So are we all ready?

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
I guess so.

Bob nods back.

BOB
Alright then.

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
So, where are we goin’ to do this?

Bob raises his eyebrows.

BOB
We’ll go to the beach, it’s the perfect place for this!

Steve, Eddie, Larry, and Barbara Lee look confused.

EDDIE
Not a bad idea.

All five of them take one more good look at the Amblin THX 1138.

EXT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–DAY

The five of them pull up in Larry’s car which is towing the Amblin THX 1138 in the back. Everyone on the beach stares at them as they unhook it from the car.

LARRY
Hey darlin’, do you wonder if the myth about Atlantis was an actual shoot or if the philosopher Plato was just workin’ all of us?

Steve, Larry, Bob, Barbara Lee, and Eddie start pushing the Amblin THX 1138 through the sand.

BARBARA LEE
I don’t know, it almost reminds of one of those location shoots we used to on the soaps back in the ‘80's.

Larry gives Barbara Lee a confused look.

LARRY
How?

Barbara Lee grinds her face as she continues to help push the Amblin THX 1138 forward.

BARBARA LEE
Remember when all the soaps tried to compete and keep up with General Hospital?

Larry raises his arm to shield the sun from his eyes.

LARRY
Oh yeah.

Steve and Eddie also doing everything they can to help push the Amblin THX 1138 through the sand.

EDDIE
I’ve taken bumps in the ring much easier on the body than this!

Steve shoots him a sarcastic look.

STEVE
You’re the one who wanted us to go on this journey.

Eddie becomes short of breath.

EDDIE
Don’t remind me.

Eddie’s chest starts heaving.

STEVE
And I can’t believe I listened to you!

Eddie looks at Steve as he tries to catch his breath.

EDDIE
Again, don’t remind me.

Eddie starts laughing.

STEVE
You think it exists?

Eddie nods his head.

EDDIE
As I told you, just have faith.

The people at the beach are still gawking at them.

STEVE
WHAT? You’ve never seen anyone push an old ship from World War II into the ocean before?

Bob also appears out of breath.

BOB
Yeah, if you dumbasses had any god damn sense, you’d all give us a hand.

A few of the tourists at the beach come to help them push the Amblin THX 1138.

LARRY
What about the rest of ya’? You just gonna stand there looking at us?

A few more come to help while the rest continue to watch.

STEVE
You all gonna stand there and be worthless losers for the rest of your lives or you wanna make somethin’ outta yourselves?

Everyone just stands there and looks at them.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
Just get over here and help us out you idiots!

They continue to push the Amblin THX 1138 towards the water while everyone looks on.

EDDIE
Screw all of you!

The Amblin THX 1138 is now a few inches near the water, and they continue pushing.

STEVE
Damn, I wish these idiots had more sense.

Eddie shakes his head.

EDDIE
Don’t be too hard on ‘em they’re just the general public.

Larry bends his legs while to help further push the Amblin THX 1138 into the water.

LARRY
Why shouldn’t we be too hard on ‘em? Most of em’ aren’t even helping us any.

A big fat Mexican looks at them pushing the Amblin THX 1138.

MEXICAN
You people aren’t from around here are you? Are you all from The South or something?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
The South? Where the hell do you think this beach is? An island off the coast of Mexico where you cross the border without becoming a U.S. Citizen?

The Amblin THX 1138 is almost in the water, they give it one last major push.

LARRY
There!

The Amblin THX 1138 is now in the water, and they give it few more light pushes.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Here we go kid! Here we go! Here we go! Here we go!!!!

They give the final push, and the Amblin THX 1138 is now in the middle of the ocean.

STEVE
I don’t believe it! We’re going through with, for real!

Larry puts his arm around Steve.

LARRY
Yeah it is, and this is one of the reasons why I love you. It’s because your special.

Larry and Steve give each other a big hug with Larry kissing him on the head. They along with Eddie, Barbara Lee, and Bob swim maneuver towards the Amblin THX 1138.

BOB
Well, here we are.

The entrance to the Amblin THX 1138 opens.

BARBARA LEE
This is it.

Larry has his arms wrapped around her.

LARRY
You bet your ass it is sugar!

INT.–AMBLIN THX 1138–COCKPIT

The five of them enter the cockpit, and it almost appears to be a roomier version of The Millenium Falcon from Star Wars, a few seats and even a few beds spread out.

EDDIE
Damn, look at this.

Steve’s eyes gaze around the room.

STEVE
Yeah, you’d think this stuff just exists in comic books.

Eddie can’t take his eyes off the cockpit either.

EDDIE
No shit.

Larry and Barbara Lee move around, looking at everything in sight.

BARBARA LEE
They’ve shown this kinda stuff on The History Channel, but seeing it up close and personal. WOW!

Larry raises his eyebrows.

LARRY
I saw these when I was kid, in those old serials at the Saturday matinees, I never in a thousand years thought they were for real.

Larry looks over at Bob.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Hey Bob, how does this thing take off?

BOB
Just sit in the captain’s chair, and the rest takes care of itself.

Larry and Barbara Lee look puzzled.

LARRY
Are you sure?

Bob nods his head and points to the captain’s chair.

BOB
Try it and see.

Larry and Barbara Lee take the seats in front of the cockpit’s control panel.

LARRY
Well, come on, get started! What are you waiting for?

The control panel gives off this strange light with an eerie sound, and takes off with a sudden jolt! Steve, Eddie, and Bob are able to brace themselves at the last second!

STEVE
Holy Shit!

Steve, Larry, and Barbara Lee look through the interior window of the Amblin THX 1138 as it maneuvers through the deepest waters of the ocean.

BARBARA LEE
Awww, the ocean looks so beautiful from here.

Larry smiles with his arm around her shoulder.

LARRY
Sure is darlin’, not too many people get this kinda chance.

Barbara Lee smiles at Larry, and gives him a big wet kiss.

STEVE
So when are we gonna get there?

Bob shrugs his shoulders.

BOB
I don’t know.

Steve becomes alarmed.

STEVE
What do you mean you don’t know?

Bob shakes his head with a confused look.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
Aren’t you the ‘’so called’‘ authority on Atlantis?

Bob sighs.

BOB
Plato’s theory never discussed this.

Steve crosses his arms with a sarcastic look on his face.

STEVE
I see.

Steve sat down on one of the beds.

EDDIE
Calm down, everything’ll be alright.

Larry looks over at Steve with a grin on his face.

LARRY
Don’t worry baby boy, we’ll get there.

Barbara Lee rubs Larry’s leg.

BARBARA LEE
Larry, I’m getting a bit impatient too, I wish we’d get there already.

He puts his arm around her, and kisses her on the lips.

LARRY
I’ll keep you warm until then, honey.

She then kisses him and laughs.

BARBARA LEE
Awwww, I love you too.

Barbara Lee hugs Larry.

LARRY
What would I ever do without you sugar?

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
I don’t know, maybe take up with a playboy playmate.

Larry’s eyes big out with a wide grin from ear to ear.

LARRY
Hey! Not a bad idea!

Barbara Lee slaps Larry in the back of the head.

BARBARA LEE
I was just kidding!

Barbara Lee looks out the window, and notices they’re heading towards a vortex.

BARBARA LEE (CONTINUED)
What the hell?

The vortex opens up, and they are being pulled inside.

LARRY
What the hell’s goin’ on?

Bob has a shocked look on his face.

BOB
We may have found the gateway to Atlantis.

Steve looks kinda pissed.

STEVE
First your drag us in here in this glorified submarine, and then tell you don’t know where Atlantis. Now all of a sudden you do know, how convenient!

Steve shakes his head.

LARRY
He didn’t know!

The Amblin THX 1138 enters the vortex.

FADE OUT:
FADE IN:

EXT.–ATLANTIS–MOUNTAINS

They emerge from the Amblin THX 1138, and see these pyramid shaped mountains made of gold. Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob were in awe of how majestic they are.

LARRY
Now we know where The Egyptians got their ideas.

Bob is wide eyed with a big smile on his face.

BOB
This was the first major description of Atlantis in Plato’s writings. Mountains which comprise the northern portion of the continent along the shore.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Let’s climb ‘em, and see what’s on the other side.

They all head towards the pyramid shaped mountains, and start climbing.

EDDIE
How many of these are there?

Bob shakes his head as he makes it up one of the mountains.

BOB
Plato never mentioned how many, just where they were.

Eddie shrugs his shoulders and continues climbing.

BARBARA LEE
How far down sea did we go?

While trying to take a higher step, Barbara Lee slips.

BARBARA LEE (CONTINUE)
Oh god!

Before she can fall, Larry extends his hand, and catches her.

LARRY
Don’t worry, I gotcha sugar!

Larry gives her a big smile.

BARBARA LEE
Whew! I thought I was gonna fall!

With his sweet eyes and his loving smile fixed on her, Larry shakes his head at Barbara Lee.

LARRY
As long as I’m around, you’ll never fall darlin’.

They join hands, and he pulls her up to his level of the mountain.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Now we’re together, we won’t fall as long as we hold on to each other.

The two of them wrap their arms around each other, and start kissing.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Feel safe now, baby doll?

Barbara Lee nods her head.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah.

Steve and Eddie are climbing further up the mountain.

EDDIE
At this rate, we’ll be climbing this thing for the next thousand years.

Steve starts laughing.

STEVE
Nothing compared to how long Atlantis has been down here.

Eddie nods his head.

EDDIE
Yeah, I guess your right.

They climb a few more steps with Steve looking up at all the pyramid shaped mountains.

STEVE
God, can you believe all this?

Eddie turns his head towards Steve.

EDDIE
I told you to have faith and come here. Didn’t I?

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Yeah.

Eddie shrugs his shoulders.

EDDIE
Well, let’s keep goin’!

STEVE
Hey Bob, can you see what’s on the other side yet?

Bob is a good distance removed from Steve and Eddie, his voice trails off as a result.

BOB
No, guess we still gotta keep climbin’!

Larry smiles as he looks over at them.

LARRY
Don’t worry gator, we’re gettin’ there!

Steve shrugs his shoulders as he keeps climbing.

STEVE
I just hope we get there soon.

Eddie shakes his head.

EDDIE
As your uncle said, don’t worry about it.

Steve and Eddie continue climbing.

STEVE
Wonder if the people of Atlantis prayed for a miracle.

Eddie busts out laughing.

EDDIE
Oh come on, this isn’t too bad!

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Oh my god!

Steve reach the top of the mountain, and sees a vast plain of land ahead.

EDDIE
See! Told ya we’d make it!

Larry, Barbara Lee, and Bob are also looking at what lies ahead.

LARRY
Damn, ain’t it beautiful, darlin’?

Larry and Barbara Lee hold hands.

BARBARA LEE
Yep, sure is.

She puts her hand on his chest, and kisses him.

LARRY
I love you, darlin’.

They look out at the vast plain of land below.

BARBARA LEE
It reminds me of gettin’ married at the altar.

Larry wraps his arms around her.

LARRY
Oh yeah.

Larry kisses her on the cheek.

BARBARA LEE
I wonder what else is out there.

EXT.–ATLANTIS–PLAIN OF LAND

The five of them move through this vast plain of land, so beautiful, so serene. It looked greener than any pasture ever could be.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t you wish you could build house here?

Larry smiles as he heads through the plain.

LARRY
Yeah, it’d be a nice place to live.

Bob shrugs his shoulders.

BOB
If it were above ground you mean.

Barbara Lee nods her head.

BARBARA LEE
Well, you know what I meant!

Bob laughs.
BOB
Yeah, I know what you mean.

Larry and Barbara Lee hold hands.

BARBARA LEE
Aren’t you glad suggested we come here?

Larry grabs a hold of Barbara Lee and kisses her.

LARRY
I am now, baby.

Steve and Eddie are walking through the plain a separate distance from Larry, Barbara Lee, and Bob.

STEVE
Man, there’s nothing but an open field here.

Eddie nods his head.

EDDIE
Yeah, wonder what’s beyond here.

Steve appeared wide eyed.

STEVE
This place is either a puzzle or a maze. Just when you think something ends, something else begins.

Eddie’s eyes bug out.

EDDIE
Kinda how life is.

They take a few more steps forward.

STEVE
Both are a never ending chain of events.

Eddie stops for a minute.

EDDIE
Except there’s death and destruction at the end.

Steve looks down at his feet.

STEVE
Yeah.

EDDIE
What do you think’s beyond here?

Steve shrugs his shoulders.

STEVE
I don’t know.

Steve looks exhausted.

STEVE
Damn, but does everything have to be so long here?

Eddie shakes his head.

EDDIE
We’re gettin’ there.

Steve gazes at the rest of the plain ahead.

STEVE
Yeah, but I happen to have a short attention span.

Eddie laughs.

EDDIE
Who doesn’t?

They both laugh.

STEVE
I guess your right.

Steve smiles.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
But this place is something special though.

Eddie nods his head.

EDDIE
Yeah, it is.

Steve kicks the grass with his feet.

STEVE
Do you think Larry and Barbara Lee’ll spend the whole time here making out?

Eddie laughs.

EDDIE
God knows what those two’ll do for a cheap thrill!

They both laugh.

STEVE
You think the people of Atlantis had as much sex as they do?

Eddie laughs even harder.

EDDIE
Oh god!

Eddie looks exhausted from the laughter.

EDDIE (CONTINUED)
I don’t even wanna think about it!

Eddie shakes his head.

STEVE
Damn, I’m tired!

Steve and Eddie both sit down to relax on the plain.

Bob, Larry, and Barbara Lee spot another mountain at a far distance from where they’re standing. It’s a small yet majestic mountain at the southern end of the plain.

BOB
Hey! Come here!

Steve and Eddie race towards where they’re standing.

STEVE
Oh it’s beautiful!

They all gaze at the mountain.

LARRY
Another one of Plato’s carney tricks.

Barbara Lee back hands Larry in the stomach.

BARBARA LEE
You and your wrestling jokes!

Larry looks a bit disappointed.

LARRY
Oh come on! They’re funny!

Barbara Lee sighs.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah, for about 10 minutes. How come you don’t think my soap opera jokes are funny?

Larry rolls his eyes at Barbara Lee.

LARRY
Sugar, those are women’s jokes! Do I come off as someone who stays home to cook and clean for the husband while taking care of the kids?

EXT.–ATLANTIS–PALACE MOUNTAIN

The five of them have now made it to the mountain where they discover it’s carved and decorated in the form of a palace. It was guarded by numerous gates and towers.

BOB
This is the palace Poseidon created for his wife Cleito from the mountain she lived in.

They all gazed at this long forgotten wonder of the world.

BOB (CONTINUED)
Whatever it is we’re looking for, we’ll find it here.

Everyone of them just stood there mesmerized by what they saw.

STEVE
Well, then let’s get goin’.

The large life sized gates palace opened up where they entered the heart of their journey.

EDDIE
Oh wow, this is unbelievable.

The palace styled mountain is surrounded by three circular moats, each moat is surrounded by a huge mass of land. In turn, each mass of land is surrounded by a wall made of brass and tin.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t you wish we could have this kinda house?

Barbara Lee noticed the brass and tin walls have a marble coating in the colors of red, black, and white. She and the others soon started taking a look around the palace.

LARRY
Hey, maybe we could build a condo up here.

He put his arm around Barbara Lee as they glanced at the bridges north of the palace which lead to the vast expanse of Atlantis.

BARBARA LEE
Sure would be nice.

She rubs his stomach and gives him a kiss.

LARRY
If we could just live here, but I know we can’t, it’s at the bottom of the sea.

She puts his arm around his chest and stomach.

BARBARA LEE
I never thought in a million years Atlantis was real, but it is. And this discovery is gonna change everything.

Larry nods his head at a slow place with a smile.

LARRY
Oh yeah, it’s gonna. You can bet it will.

Barbara Lee puts her head on his shoulder.

BARBARA LEE
I just hope we make it out alive.

Steve and Eddie look out at the great canal to the sea.

STEVE
Damn, what else does this place have?

Eddie smiles.

EDDIE
I think it has a bit of everything.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Do you think we’ll end up getting stuck down here?

Eddie looks confused.

EDDIE
Why do you think so?

Steve sighs.

STEVE
It’s how everyone in Atlantis ended up.

Eddie laughs.

EDDIE
It doesn’t mean we will.

Steve looks deeper into the vast canal in the sea ahead.

STEVE
I know, I’m just nervous.

Eddie puts his arm around Steve.

EDDIE
It’ll be alright.

Steve walks over to Larry and Barbara Lee, and gives Larry a big hug.

LARRY
Hey there, you alright?

Steve is still holding onto him.

STEVE
Yeah.

Larry shakes his head with a smartass grin on his face.

LARRY
No your not, what’s wrong?

Steve gives Larry a worried look.

STEVE
I just feel scared, you know.

Larry hugs him back.

LARRY
Awwwwwwwww, it’s alright.

Larry smiles.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I’m here for ya’, we all are.

Larry kisses Steve on the head.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
This is gonna turn out great, you’ll see.

Steve and Larry stand there hugging each other.

STEVE
Uh Bob, how do we get beyond here? How do we get inside the palace?

Bob leads them towards one of the marble walls guarding one of the moats around the palace. There is a tunnel inside the wall, and there’s a ship within the tunnel.

BOB
This is the way in.

They all move towards the tunnel and the ship

LARRY
So this tiny ass sailboat through this tunnel is how we get there?

Larry appears to be less than impressed.

BOB
Yeah.

Larry takes another look at the sailboat in the tunnel.

LARRY
This being Atlantis and all, I thought it’d be bigger than the Titanic.

Bob gives Larry a dirty look.

BOB
And if it was the size of the Titanic, it would sink Atlantis further into the depths of The Atlantic Ocean.

Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob board the sailboat which starts moving through the tunnel.

INT.–ATLANTIS–TUNNEL

The five of them are sailing through the dark tunnel, nothing but pitch black darkness. Every inch of the tunnel was filled with a new jolt at every corner.

STEVE
Where the hell are we going?

The sailboat experiences a twist to the left.

LARRY
I don’t know. Anybody got a flashlight?

Eddie pulls one out, and turns it on.

BARBARA LEE
How much of this shit will we have to go through before we get somewhere?

Larry kisses her.

LARRY
We’ll get outta here, don’t worry sugar.

The sailboat experiences a turn to the right.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Hey Bob, what part of Atlantis does tunnel lead to?

Bob looks straight ahead at Larry.

BOB
I’m not sure.

Steve busts out laughing.

STEVE
Of course you don’t Bob, you don’t know anything about this god damn place! Despite researching it for years and years and years!

Steve looks a bit annoyed.

LARRY
Alright kid, enough!

Steve stands up in the sailboat.

STEVE
Enough my ass! This guy might be an expert on Atlantis, but he doesn’t know shit about what he’s doing!

Steve gets right in Bob’s face.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
Your nothing but an idiot!

Larry grabs Steve’s arm.

LARRY
Look this place has been at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean for thousands of years. So no one knows what’s down here for sure.

Larry puts his hands on Steve’s shoulders.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Bob’s just doing the best job he can.

Steve laughs.

STEVE
Yeah right.

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
Nothing bad has happened so far, so he must be doing something right. So let’s try to get through this, alright?

They all await Steve’s response.

STEVE
Fine.

Just as Steve and Larry are sitting down, the sailboat is jerked by another sudden turn.

BOB
We’re going further into the unknown.

Bob has a sneaky grin on his face.

STEVE
God, how many twists and turns does this tunnel have?

Larry smiles.

LARRY
Why don’t you ask the idiot?

Eddie, Larry, and Barbara Lee start laughing with Bob smiling.

STEVE
Whatever.

Bob smiles at Steve.

BOB
I’m sure we’ll be there soon Steve, don’t worry.

Steve still has an unsure look on his face.

LARRY
I told you it’s gonna be alright, you’ll see.

Larry has his arm around Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Just take it easy, alright?

Larry gives Steve a hug.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
We’re all a bit on edge here, this is something no one’s ever done before.

Larry has a twinkle in his eye.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
So there’s no rulebook for what we’re doing.

Larry follows it up with a smile.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
You know I’m sayin’ this because I love ya’ and care about ya’.

Larry has a concerned look on his face.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Just relax.

All of sudden, the sailboat starts racing towards a bright light.

STEVE
A light at the end of the tunnel! Are we dead or something?

The light becomes even brighter, and the five of them shield their eyes.

LARRY
Well, we get what we ask for.

A wailing sound comes from the light, and Eddie covers his ears.

EDDIE
What’s the hell’s goin’ on?

The light gets even brighter and the sound gets much louder.

BOB
It’s coming! Be careful what you wish for Steve!

Steve gives Bob an angry look.

STEVE
Oh blow it out your ass!

The light and the sound come racing toward them at a lighting fast speed.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
We’re going even faster towards it!

They begin to enter the light.

LARRY
Are we in the movie Poltergeist or something?

INT.–ATLANTIS–PALACE DUNGEON

The sailboat exits the bright light, and takes a plunge down a waterfall. Across from the waterfall is a moat reaching to the other side of the dungeon.

BARBARA LEE
Oh god! This reminds me of the Eterna storyline on One Life To Live!

Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, and Bob get out of the sailboat standing on a marble rock floor looking across the moat.

STEVE
Where are we?

Bob looks puzzled.

BOB
I think this is the dungeon chamber of the palace.

Steve gazes down at the black water in the moat as it bubbles to the surface.

STEVE
Did Poseidon keep prisoners here or something?

Bob shakes his head.

BOB
Oh no. Poseidon never took prisoners, he would punish mortals by wiping out entire civilizations.

Larry becomes confused.

LARRY
Then what did he use this place for then?

BOB
Dungeons were just ancient and medieval basements.

Larry looks befuddled.

LARRY
Oh.

Barbara Lee puts her arm around Larry.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t you think this is romantic?

Larry starts laughing.

LARRY
Wait a minute! You’ve been acting as if you were were gettin’ sick of this.

Barbara Lee sighs.

BARBARA LEE
I’m just sick of all the twists and turns, but I’m not sick of you.

Larry and Barbara Lee wrap their arms around each other and start kissing.

LARRY
I love you too, precious.

They have another kiss.

STEVE
When are you two gonna stop kissing so we can cross this damn thing?

Steve looks at the moat.

STEVE
Alright, let’s go.

The five of them start to walk through the moat.

BARBARA LEE
This water looks so filthy!

Bob and Larry laugh.

BOB
It’s supposed to be filthy! It’s a moat!

Bob and Larry are still laughing.

LARRY
Don’t be too hard on her Bob, maybe she’ll pull King Arthur’s word out of the moat!

They laugh even harder.

BOB
Oh, you mean Excalibur?

Bob and Larry can’t stop laughing.

BARBARA LEE
Oh, ha ha! You two are so god damn funny.

Bob and Larry stop and grin for a minute.

LARRY
Of course we are!

Bob and Larry bust out laughing again.

Steve is looking around and listening to the surroundings of the moat.

EDDIE
What is it?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
I don’t know.

Steve tries listening again.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
There’s something nearby.

Steve and Eddie keep moving through the moat.

EDDIE
Well, we’ll find out soon enough.

Bob, Larry, and Barbara Lee follow close behind.

STEVE
It’s getting closer.

The five of them look and listen for anything strange.

BARBARA LEE
You think anything’s watching us or eavsdropping on us?

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
What? Is some big scary sea monster is gonna jump outta the water and scare us?

They emerge from the moat, and notice there’s a corridor containing a staircase made of stone. It’s in the far right corner of the dungeon.

BARBARA LEE
Where do you think it leads?

Steve shrugs his shoulders.

STEVE
Who knows? This place is just one big mystery after the next.

They all start making their way up the staircase.

LARRY
This reminds me of those old horror movies, always some big scary castle. The idiots who went into those castles were too stupid to know a monster was about to jump out.

The corridor gets darker as they move up the staircase.

STEVE
Anyone hear anything?

The sound of ominous chants is heard.

LARRY
Now we do.

The darkness in the corridor grows and the chants become louder as they move up the final steps.

STEVE
Well here we are, at the top of the staircase.

INT.–ATLANTIS–THE SHRINE OF POSEIDON

The five of them are now in an aquarium styled shrine made in the image of Poseidon. At the center of the shrine is an altar where a life sized golden statue of Poseidon on a winged chariot stands.

STEVE
I think we’ve made it.

The five of them look a bit overwhelmed since they’ve now they’ve reached the heart of Atlantis.

EDDIE
Where do we go from here?

Steve heads toward the altar where he stands before the statue of Poseidon.

BARBARA LEE
Steve wait!

Steve stands in front of the statue of Poseidon as if Barbara Lee.

LARRY
You got no idea what’s been rigged over there!

Bob nods his head.
BOB
I think he knows what he’s doing.

The statue of Poseidon ascends to the air as the winged chariot spreads its wings. The statue flies around the shrine, and the shrine becomes a holographic projection with the five of them standing in the middle.

BARBARA LEE
What’s happening?

A huge ball of gaseous chemicals appears with Eddie getting close to it.

EDDIE
What the hell is this?

The ball explodes, and there’s nothing but sheer darkness.

BARBARA LEE
Is everyone alright?

Various gases start forming in the darkness.

LARRY
Oh my god, look at this!

The various gases form a galaxy of shooting stars.

BARBARA LEE
What’s going on?

In the middle of the projected galaxy is a black hole.

BOB
I think we’re witnessing the creation of the universe.

On the other end of the black hole is a projection of the sun.

STEVE
This is amazing.

All nine of the planets in the solar system, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto form around the sun.

LARRY
I don’t believe this.

The Greek gods Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon are looking down on Earth as the oceans and continents of land are forming.

BOB
Oh my, it’s The Gods of Olympus!

The three Gods set their sights on section of Europe which appears to be Ancient Greece.
LARRY
So this is where it all started.

Zeus stands atop the formation Mount Olympus.

BARBARA LEE
Damn! Nobody above is gonna believe this!

Hades is surrounded by the formation of a fiery underworld.

EDDIE
No, they won’t.

Poseidon appears to be the central figure in the formation of Atlantis.

STEVE
Let’s hope we don’t get killed in the process.

A projection is shown of the people of Atlantis invading Egypt and Greece, and battling with The Gods of Olympus which results in Atlantis sinking after being disrupted by many earthquakes and floods.

STEVE
Wow!

In the holographic projection, a young hero receives an offer to go on a journey a herald or an oracle. But the young hero shakes his head in refusal of this offer.
LARRY
What are we witnessing now?

The young hero is aided by an old wizard, and they cross a threshold into the belly of a whale.

BOB
I have no idea.

The young hero cuts his way out of the belly of the whale, and he and the old wizard move down a dirt road.

STEVE
You mean you have no clue what this is, Bob?

In the projection, the young hero and the old wizard meet a motherly goddess type woman who turns out to be to be a seductive temptress.

BOB
No.

In the projection, the young hero has one final battle with a father figure.

STEVE
I wonder what all this means.

The projection shows the young hero refusing to return with the old wizard. But the young hero is attacked which prompts the old wizard to rescue him, and go on a magic flight to cross the final threshold.

LARRY
Don’t worry about it, just relax.

The young hero returns home with the old wizard. He know is the master of two world and has the freedom to live.

BARBARA LEE
What’s next?

The projection ends, and there’s now a door which leads to the way out.

STEVE
Well, there’s the door. Let’s go.

Larry and Barbara Lee snuggle close together.

LARRY
Alright, we’re comin’.

Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Bob, and Eddie walk towards the door. They all look nervous as Steve opens it, and the pause before walking out.

EDDIE
Where does this door go?

FADE OUT:
FADE IN:

EXT.–ATLANTIS–MOUNTAINS

The door lead back to the starting point of their journey where they had climbed those pyramid shaped mountains. They were all staring at the Amblin THX 1138.

BARBARA LEE
So we ended up back here?

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Well, I guess it’s over.

Steve looks right at the Amblin THX 1138.

STEVE
Let’s go back then.

Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob move toward the Amblin THX 1138.

EDDIE
I wonder if those dumbasses on the beach’ll still be there.

Steve looks at the Amblin THX 1138 with a confused look.

STEVE
I don’t know.

INT.–AMBLIN THX 1138–COCKPIT

The five of them get onboard the Amblin THX 1138, all with overwhelmed looks on their faces. Larry and Barbara Lee take their seats in front of the cockpit while Steve, Eddie, and Bob sit on the individual beds.

STEVE
I wonder what those secrets of the universe we discovered in Poseidon’s shrine meant.

Eddie shakes his head.

EDDIE
Don’t worry about it. Maybe we’re not supposed to know.

Steve gives Eddie a puzzled look.

STEVE
What do you mean?

Eddie looks right into Steve’s eyes.

EDDIE
Maybe it’s one of those mysteries of the universe which isn’t supposed to be explained.

Steve still looks confused.

EDDIE (CONTINUED)
You know how you see and experience the miracles of God, but you don’t why or how he does it?

STEVE
Yeah.

Steve nods his head.

EDDIE
Well, maybe this is how it’s supposed with Atlantis.

Steve nods his head again.

STEVE
Maybe your right.

A tired Bob looks over at Steve.

BOB
Just relax and enjoy the journey home.

Steve lies down on the bed.

LARRY
Yeah, we’ll be back home before you know it.

Larry gets up from the front of the cockpit, and kneels at Steve’s bedside.

LARRY (CONTINUED
Hey kid.

Larry glances at his tired nephew.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I just wanna thank you for askin’ me to come here.

Larry smiles at Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
And tell you once more how much I love you.

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Who knows where we’d all be if you hadn’t wanted us to come here.

Larry now has an even bigger smile on his face.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
Atlantis just isn’t a miracle, you’re the real miracle Steve.

Larry props his chin up on his arm.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
A child who brought a bunch of middle aged losers to a utopian paradise. Now there’s a miracle!

Larry kisses Steve on the head.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I knew you were special the moment your mama brought you home from the hospital. And now you’re the miracle child who found Atlantis.

Barbara Lee notices they’re headed for the same vortex from which they entered Atlantis.

BARBARA LEE
I think we’re headed back to the surface.

Larry races back to the front of the cockpit.

STEVE
Alright, everyone stay still.

Larry and Barbara Lee hold hands.

LARRY
Wasn’t this great, precious?

Barbara Lee nods her head and smiles at Larry.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah.

Larry and Barbara Lee start kissing.

BARBARA LEE (CONTINUED)
I love you, honey.

Larry smiles at her.

LARRY
I love you too, baby doll.

Larry and Barbara Lee wrap their arms around each other as they continue kissing.

EXT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–DAY

The Amblin THX 1138 returns to the surface of the ocean, the door to the submarine opens with Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob getting out into the ocean.

STEVE
God, how long have we been down there?

All five of them look around, and notice no one is on the beach.

BARBARA LEE
Where did everyone go?

They walk through the waters of the ocean, looking around for anyone in sight.

LARRY
Did the sun get too hot all of a sudden?

Larry laughs a bit.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
They were lookin’ at us if we were nuts, now they don’t have the guts to even face us.

Bob nods his head.

BOB
Makes ya’ think, don’t it?

Larry takes a deep breathe with his hand on his hips.

The five of them continue walking through the ocean.

LARRY
Come here, sweetheart.

Larry holds out his arms as Barbara Lee comes towards him.

BARBARA LEE
Ain’t you just handsome, darlin’?

Barbara Lee walks into Larry’s loving arms, and kisses him.

LARRY
I know I am, sugar. I know I am.

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
You are so full of shit.

Larry grins at Steve.

LARRY
Yeah, but I’m still handsome.

Steve and Eddie continue walking through the ocean.

EDDIE
Handsome in your own mind.

Bob looks pissed as he tries to push The Amblin THX 1138 out of the ocean.

BOB
Aren’t you all gonna give me a hand here?

The other four help Bob give the Amblin THX 1138 a small push.

LARRY
Come on, let’s give it another.

They give it another small push.

STEVE
God, can this get any heavier?

Larry squints his eyes.

LARRY
Just keep pushin’.

They all give the Amblin THX 1138 a big push.

EDDIE
We’re gettin’ there, now let’s go.

They give it another push.

STEVE
Alright, how much longer do we have to go?

They give it one last major push.

BOB
We’re almost there.

They give the Amblin THX 1138 a few small pushes on the way back to shore.

STEVE
God, I’m tired!

Steve bends his knees as if he can’t stand up anymore.

LARRY
Don’t worry, let’s just go find somewhere to sit down.

The five of them sit down on the sand in the middle of the beach.

STEVE
How long have we been out there?

Steve is so tired he lays down.

LARRY
We were there for a good while.

Larry smiles as he looks over at Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
But it was worth it, wasn’t it?

Steve nods his head.
S

STEVE
Yeah, of course it was.

LARRY
You’ve made a difference in people’s lives, and we’re gonna change the world with this.

Larry hugs Steve.

LARRY (CONTINUED)
I’m so proud of you.

Larry holds Steve even tighter.

BARBARA LEE
And I love YOU darlin’!

Barbara Lee wraps her arms around Larry’s stomach, and puts her head on his shoulder.

EDDIE
I guess I’ll have to get in on this too, huh?

Eddie joins in on the group hug.

BOB
Let me squeeze in here.

Bob gets in on the group hug as well.

STEVE
How long are we gonna be in this group hug?

The five of them start laughing.

NT.–TELEVISION STUDIO–NEWSCAST

A reporter is interviewing Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob about the discovery of Atlantis. The five of them look calm and reserved.

REPORTER
Now a crew of biologists and scuba divers have gone down to the Atlantic Ocean to verify your claim, but could you tell us what secrets Atlantis holds?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
We couldn’t tell you.

The reporter looks a bit shocked.

REPORTER
Why not?

Steve takes a deep breath.

STEVE
For the same reason one doesn’t question God as to why or how he performs his divine miracles.

The reporter waits for Steve to continue.

STEVE (CONTINUED)
You just have faith, and believe it’s there.

The reporter nods his head.

REPORTER
Well, it makes sense.

The reporter scratches his eyebrow.

REPORTER (CONTINUED)
So, what inspired you to find Atlantis?

Steve smiles at the reporter.

STEVE
Eddie here found a map in his attic, and believed we should go, and we brought the rest along for the ride. And here we are!

The cameraman gives the signal.

CAMERAMAN
And we’re out!

The news camera pulls back, and the entire newsroom is shown.

STEVE
If another reporter interviews me about Atlantis I’m gonna scream!

He, Larry, Barbara Lee, and Bob get out of their chairs. Moving past the news camera, they go into the trenches of the studio.

EDDIE
Your just under pressure from the media attention.

Larry smiles at Steve.

LARRY
Everything’s gonna be alright, you’ll see.

Steve gives him a dirty look.

STEVE
You always say everything’s gonna be alright.

Larry’s smile gets even wider.

LARRY
And it will.

Larry gives him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek.

STEVE
Yeah, sure it will.

Barbara Lee looks at them.

BARBARA LEE
Come on, it’s not too bad.

Steve nods his head.

STEVE
Of course it isn’t, I just wish it all wasn’t happening so fast.

Bob shakes his head.

BOB
Just don’t worry about it.

Barbara Lee looks at all of them.

BARBARA LEE
Come on, we gotta head on outta here.

They head on over to the exit of the television studio.

STEVE
I wonder how many reporters are gonna be calling us next.

Barbara Lee rolls her eyes.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t worry about it Steve!

Steve lets out a small chuckle.

STEVE
Well, they’re a pain in the ass!

Eddie opens the exit door.

BARBARA LEE
Let’s go!

The five of them walk out the door.

INT.–BEDROOM–NIGHT

Larry and Barbara Lee are lying in bed together, Barbara Lee has her entire body covered up in sheets while Larry is shirtless and has a hairy chest.

LARRY
I’m so proud of Steve.

Barbara Lee’s head is lying on his chest, listening to his heartbeat as she touches his stomach.

BARBARA LEE
He sure is somethin’, ain’t he?

Larry nods his head.

LARRY
Yeah.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
If he can accomplish something huge such as finding Atlantis at such a young age, who knows what he’ll do when he gets older?

Larry has a big smile on his face.

LARRY
I just hope I live to see it all.

Barbara Lee relaxes on top of his body.

BARBARA LEE
Don’t worry, honey. You will.

Larry kisses her on the head.
LARRY
I hope so.

Barbara Lee moves her hand up and down his chest and stomach.

BARBARA LEE
Can you believe Atlantis is for real?

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY
I wouldn’t have in a thousand years.

Barbara Lee digs her finger into his navel.

BARBARA LEE
And we were there to experience it all.

Larry looks up at the ceiling.
LARRY
Not many people get a chance to do what we did, and it was just once in a lifetime.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
Although Steve was right about the media.

Larry doesn’t look surprised.

LARRY
Yeah, maybe they should leave us alone.

Barbara Lee looks up at Larry.

BARBARA LEE
Who would’ve thought? Just when we thought our lives would go even further down the tubes, there was journey which changed everything.

Larry raises his eyebrows.

LARRY
Yeah, what a story.

Barbara Lee closes her eyes for a second, then opens them again.

BARBARA LEE
A story which happened to us in real life.

Larry gets a curious look on his face.

LARRY
Ever think this kinda thing could ever happen again?

Barbara Lee shrugs her shoulders.

BARBARA LEE
Who knows?

Larry wraps his arms around her.

LARRY
Ya’ think the buzz over Atlantis’ll ever die down?

Barbara Lee shakes her head.

BARBARA LEE
Nope.

Larry fluffs his pillow.

LARRY
You may be right.

Barbara Lee kisses every inch of his stomach from top to bottom.

BARBARA LEE
Do you think we’ll end up in the history books?

Larry shrugs his shoulders.

LARRY
Don’t know.

Barbara Lee starts laughing.

BARBARA LEE
Ain’t ya’ the least bit curious?

Larry smiles.

LARRY
Yeah, it’d be nice.

A tired Larry turns his head as if he’s about to fall asleep.

BARBARA LEE
Yeah, it would.

Barbara Lee lays her head down on his hairy chest.

LARRY
What would I do without you, sugar?

Barbara Lee shrugs her shoulders.

BARBARA LEE
You’d get even older than you already are.

They both bust out laughing.

LARRY
Don’t remind me of my age, please darlin’.

Barbara Lee gives him a frown.

BARBARA LEE
Awwwwwwwwwww, what’s a matter? My sugar daddy doesn’t wanna get old?

They hold each other and share a long passionate kiss.

INT.–HANGAR–DAY

Members of the press are hounding Bob in his hangar. They are crowded around his myriad of vintage airplanes and submarines.

REPORTER
What are your thoughts on what’s going on at Panama City Beach?

Bob looks confused.

BOB
What are you talkin’ about?

The reporter is a bit surprised.

REPORTER
You mean you don’t know?

Bob shakes his head.

BOB
Know what?

The reporter looks shocked.

REPORTER
There’s a rumbling sound at the beach, and water’s bubbling up, as if something’s about to rise out of the ocean. Everyone’s talking about it.

Bob gets on his cellphone.

INT.–LARRY AND BARBARA LEE’S LIVING ROOM–DAY

Larry and Barbara Lee are hugging and kissing as usual, when of a sudden, the phone rings. Larry races over to the phone, and picks it up.

LARRY
Hey.

Larry looks confused as there is heavy breathing on the other end.

BOB (VOICE OVER)
There’s something goin’ on at Panama City Beach! I’ll meet ya’ there!

Larry looks even more confused.

LARRY
What is it?

Larry waits for Bob’s answer.

BOB
Can’t talk now, just get there!

Larry lowers his eyebrows.

LARRY
Alright.

Bob’s heavy breathing starts again.

BOB
Don’t forget to tell the others.

Larry hangs up the phone.

BARBARA LEE
Who was it?

Larry looks over at Barbara Lee.

LARRY
Bob found out there’s somethin’ goin’ on at Panama City Beach, we need to let Steve and Eddie know, and get there.

Larry dials Steve’s number.

STEVE (VOICE OVER)
Hi.

Larry gets nervous.

LARRY
Hey junior, somethin’s goin’ down at Panama City Beach, and you need tell Eddie so we can all meet there.

Larry starts sweating.

STEVE
Alright, I’ll let him know.

Larry moves around the room.

LARRY
Just hurry!

EXT.–EDDIE’S HOUSE–DAY

Steve and Eddie are standing beside his car, Eddie gives him a curious look. Steve looks out of breath as if he just raced to Eddie’s house.

STEVE
We gotta get to Panama City Beach.

Eddie looks puzzled.

EDDIE
What for?

Steve tries to catch his breath.

STEVE
Larry told me somethin’ was goin’ on there, and we needed to get there as soon as possible.

Eddie still looks confused.

EDDIE
What’s happenin’ there though?

Steve shakes his head.

STEVE
He didn’t say.

Eddie takes a deep breathe.

EDDIE
Alright, let’s go.

They race over to Eddie’s car.

STEVE
What do you think it could be?

Eddie shrugs his shoulders.

EDDIE
Maybe the press wants to get another interview, and this time maybe it’s a big interview with 60 Minutes!

Steve busts out laughing.

STEVE
Your so full of shit.

Eddie smiles.

EDDIE
I know I am, but it’s apart of my appeal.

Steve rolls his eyes.

STEVE
Yeah right.

They get into Eddie’s car, and drive off.

INT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–DAY

People gather as this big rumbling noise occurs within the ocean as three vehicles pull up. One containing Steve and Eddie, another with Larry and Barbara Lee, and the last with Bob getting as well as the others emerging also.

LARRY
What’s the big fuss about?

The five of them notice something bubbling forth in the water.

STEVE
What the hell’s goin’ on?

A herd of reporters come charging towards them.

LARRY
Oh no, not this again!

All of these reporters are in their faces asking a myriad of questions.

STEVE
Would you all please back off?

The five of them start running from the reporters as the people crowd spot them and start cheering.

BARBARA LEE
Anyone know what the hell’s goin’ on here?

All of sudden, the rumbling in the ocean leads to something rising out of the water. Everyone is fixated on what could be emerging from the sea.

STEVE
I don’t believe this!

Rows and rows and row of ancient pyramids surface.

BARBARA LEE
Look!

A massive plain of land rises to fruition behind the pyramids.

EDDIE
Awesome!

And behind the plain, a palace shaped mountain surrounded by three circular rings, guarded by gates and towers rises from the sea.

BOB
Poseidon and Cleito’s palace, oh my god!

In full view there it was, The Lost Continent of Atlantis has now risen from it’s watery grave.

LARRY
The most beautiful thing on Earth just rose from the sea in front of our own eyes.

Everyone on the beach just stood there stunned.

REPORTER
Ladies and Gentlemen, you’ve just witnessed Plato’s mythical utopia Atlantis rise from the dead.

Pulling back, it is revealed the reporter is standing in front of a cameraman.

REPORTER
When it comes to the discovery of Atlantis, these five people should be commended.

The reporter turns towards Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob.

REPORTER (CONTINUED)
So tell me, how does it feel to see the lost continent you discovered rise from the sea?

Steve looks astonished.

STEVE
There are no words to describe it, it was just amazing.

Larry shakes his head with a smile.

LARRY
Experiencing this just beat the overall concept of climbing Mount Everest hands down.

The reporter looks over at Bob.

BOB
I’ve been spent most of my life believing in Atlantis, and now here it is. I’m just speechless.

Barbara Lee smiles.

BARBARA LEE
We had our doubts as to whether or not Atlantis existed, but thank god it does.

The reporter looks over at Eddie.

REPORTER
I understand you may have been the one who inspired this whole thing in the first place.

Eddie smiles.

EDDIE
If I hadn’t found the map of Atlantis in my attic, I don’t know where we’d all be right now. But the real credit goes to Steve here, our young hero.

Eddie grabs Steve’s shoulders.

LARRY
He’s gonna be the one who’s in the history books someday.

Larry smiles at Steve.

STEVE
Your so full of BS.

INT.–PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLORIDA–NIGHT

Pulling back, it’s revealed the interview with the reporter is on a late night newscast on a portable television set on the beach where Steve, Larry, Barbara Lee, Eddie, and Bob are sitting around a campfire.

STEVE
Is this what it all comes down to?

Larry laughs.

LARRY
Plato and other philosophers told tales of Atlantis around a campfire, and we’re now sittin’ around a campfire next to the real thing. What do you think?

Steve nods as they all toast marshmallows and hot dogs.

STEVE
Yeah, I guess your right.

Larry and Barbara Lee have their arms around each other as they smile at Steve.

BARBARA LEE
This was so special, I wonder if we’ll do anything this wonderful again.

Steve has one last glance at Atlantis in all of its mythical and mysterious splendor.
